Last Full Day

11/23/2010

The last full day of the season. It is kind of like Christmas eve when you are five. The day seems to last forever and you can 't stand it because you want tomorrow morning to get here quickly.  The crew is all giddy and ready for their "summer" break. We had a great season and we have a at least half of the crew returning next season. It has been fantastic seeing all of the guests on the mountain this year. I have enjoyed my interactions with all of you on the blog. Thank you for tuning in and staying in touch. I look forward to my return in March. I may surprise you and hijack Alex's post every now and again. I will let you know if Chris and I do any cool hikes in the Smokies this winter. Take care and have a wonderful holiday and safe winter.

While I have hiked leConte many times over the years I have lost touch with the mountain in between hikes.

With your blog I have felt like I have been there everyday this year.

Allyson can't thank you enough. Many blessings for the winter.

Thanks for the parting picture! And I agree with everyone saying that you have kept us greatly informed about what happens on the mountain we have come to love a lot! We love to keep up with the weather there. I can't wait to see how Alex is going to keep us "entertained" over the winter. Give everyone a hug from us and we look forward to seeing you next year! Have a safe and fun "break"!

Allyson,
I have loved your blog this year. My husband and I hiked to LeConte for 21 years in a row but missed 2009 and 2010. We have our reservations for April, 2011, and just can't wait to be on the mountain again. There's just nothing else in the world like it. I hope all of the crew has a great winter break and I'm also looking forward to Alex's updates. Take care and God bless!

Thank you very much for your blog. I just got re-acquainted with LeConte Lodge after visiting there 30 years ago this year through your entries. It makes me long to visit again with my family to share what I experienced.

I have enjoyed reading each day what has happened and viewing the images from the mountain.

Thanks to all the staff for a great time at the Lodge back in spring, and extra thanks to Allyson and the other bloggers for allowing us to live on the mountain vicariously the rest of the year.

Enjoy your break!

I have been hiking LeConte since I was 12. The experiences have always been a part of me. I have my parents to thank for those memories. I go back as much as possible. In between visiting from Florida, your excellent blog keeps me dreaming of my return. Thx so much!
