Morning y'all,
It's a blustery day up top. The high yesterday reached 47 degrees. The low was 34 degrees. It was 44 degrees and cloudy at 7am observation. The mountain received .06" of rain yesterday as a front moved in overnight. It didn't have much rain, but powerful winds made it feel like a serious storm. We're supposed to get some more precipitation this afternoon. The trails should still be in great shape. If you like solitude, today would be a great day to hike up. Enjoy!

I hiked roundtrip on Bullhead yesterday and while eating lunch at one of the picnic tables I heard what sounded like a woman screaming, I rushed toward the sound only to find that it was JP listening to opera. It still sounded like screaming to this ole country boy. Just kidding JP.

It was probably too quiet up there, JP needed some noise. :) Colds a coming, buckle down. I'm very interested in today's weather, as I hope to get up the mountain sometime this week. Here in Sylva NC, it's been in the mid-40s all day ranging from mist to drizzle to heavy rain. Kinda strange, considering how much colder it is just to the west. I've been watching the weather radar, and it seems to be moving SW to NE (I'm kind of a weather geek). So anyway, I'd be interested in knowing details of precipitation up there, whether sleet, freezing rain, snow, or just plain old ordinary rain. Whatever it is, I hope you're enjoying a cozy spot with some good books. Comments are closed.
