Its a rainy ole day in camp. The high yesterday reached 48 degrees. The overnight low only dropped down to 37 degrees. It’s currently 35 degrees with light winds and light rain falling. We received 1.66” of precipitation. All snow and ice have melted away. Today looks to be a soaker of a day so pack those best rain jackets. I won’t leave the house or cabin without my trusty ultra light umbrella in these conditions. Temperatures will be much cooler today so plan accordingly. Once again, no day hiker services until later this month folks. We are almost there to opening day. Spring is right around the corner with all the beautiful flowers popping up within the Smokies. Who’s ready for spring and flowers? It has been a fantastic winter spent in my favorite place! I am very fortunate to able to switch from the easy mountain life to Trail Crew for the NPS. With my duty station being Cades Cove and raining from Maryville, Tennessee these mountains are home and right in my back yard. I am blessed to be able to spend my working career in the Smokies. Have a great day folks. See you at the top!
