Good Afternoon All,

It’s that time of year for the crew members to start hiking up the mountain and get ready for the 2019 season. After we all gathered for a big breakfast in town down below, we began our ascent up Alum Cave Trail on Friday. Once we reached the lodge we unpacked our belongings, ate dinner, and started preparing the lodge for the season ahead. We could not ask for better weather at the top. We are currently under clear skies with no rain or snow in the forecast (fingers crossed that doesn't change). Temperatures are staying on the colder side, currently at 27 degrees with lows dropping into the lower teens.
We have a great crew lined up for the 2019 season. A large portion of returning crew members from the 2018 season with a few new crew members who are excited for the opportunity and adventures ahead.

Great looking bunch ! I hiked it on Wednesday the 15th three days ago . Weather was beautiful then also . I’ve hiked it many many times over the past 25 years . It’s my happy place . This hike up was with more importance then some of the past trips . I had knee replacement from an injury on my right knee eleven weeks ago . From the day of surgery I started rehabing myself with plans on making it up to Leconte on this trip . I am so happy and pleased to say I made it ! I actually hiked everyday on our nine days in Gatlinburg but Leconte was my prize and with it being this time of the year I had no choice but to hike up and down it . I took Alum cave, it’s my favorite of all. . Determination and hard work does pay off . I’m on my way home now to Louisiana. ❤️🥾🏔🐻! . Do you know when the this seasons shirts (I hiked it ) will be available for sale and is it possible to order some things since the offfice was closed Wednesday?? Gina

Hiked up last year and thoroughly enjoyed the visit. My bucket list wasn't totally checked off as staying in the lodge has to be completed. Have a GREAT season.
