Good morning, Overnight, we reached a low in the lower teens and while currently at 17 degrees, we will expect a little warm up throughout the day but it will remain chilly for our Airlift! If a summit to the mountain is in your plans, please remember that the lodge premises will not be accessible like it is the rest of the year. While we fly, lodge grounds are closed off for safety reasons. Brief openings will occur when we will be able to allow visitors access to restrooms and water spigots. Otherwise, onlookers will have to marvel at the helicopter from a safe distance outside of camp. A captured moment from our pre-flight safety meeting. Crew and volunteers are ready to get moving!

What is the purpose of the airlift and how long does this last? Curiosity got me...

This is how they get all the major stock up to the lodge before the start of the season. Much of it is food, other supplies too. During the season, they use llamas to carry used bedding (sheets) down and bring fresh bedding up, usually via the Trillium Gap trail. The airlift lasts...I think about 3 days? But I could be wrong!
