First Llama day of the season!!! Today we got to see our llama friends back at the lodge for the first time of the 2019 season. All of crew were super excited to say hello and give out well deserved treats to all the llamas. After a nice relaxing break at the summit they headed back home down the mountain as crew waved goodbye from the back porch. Last night we received an amazing sunset that set the sky a blaze with rich orange and pink color. Guest were able to witness the beautiful sunset from Cliff Tops despite the chilly temps. Yesterdays low was 25 degrees with a surprising high of 40 degrees. We were fortunate to have no rain but below freezing temps at night still leaves a few lingering icy patches. For those planning a hike up can still benefit from traction devices and extra layers. Last nights sunset was certainly one for the books

Welcome back, llama team! Hope your first of the season trek was a good one. I’m certain you were spoiled at the top.

Are there many icy patches inn alum cave? Coming up with my three kids. Lots of experience hiking in backcountry, but wanting to be prepared. Staying in shelter. Assure your lunch packages available now? Do you do a dinner for purchase too?

My husband and I are coming up November 4. It will be our second overnight trip. Looking forward to it. I hope there are women's small tee shirts still available by then!
