The ice is finally beginning to thaw up top as we experienced a warm 43 degrees yesterday and may even see the lower 50s today. A warm March for LeConte. Crew are taking in the warm weather and clear view in between making beds. The birds were chirping this morning as they awoke from a chilly nap overnight, 27 degrees to be exact, but all is calm on LeConte as we prepare for another stunning day.
If you do plan on a summit today, still keep those traction devices at hand as there may still be a couple of icy spots on the trail. Additionally, as we get into the late afternoon hours, we are expected to get into the upper 20s again so remember those layers!
