Good morning folks, It’s another fine morning in camp. The sun is shining with warming temps as I type to you all. The high yesterday reached 40 degrees. The overnight low only dropped down 24 degrees. It’s currently 27 degrees with very light wind. No precipitation was recorded. Looks to be another fantastic day on the mountain with plenty of sunshine and blue skies. The weather has switched from winter to spring like conditions. The next 7 days look very rewarding with sun all throughout and warmer temperatures. US Hwy. 441 (Newfound Gap Road) is back open from the threat of weather. All trails leading to LeConte await your arrival. Traction may be needed in some sections. Come on up and enjoy the mountain. Have a great day! Sheew doggies my legs are toast from the run down/up Alum Cave trail. Pushing as hard as I could, I made it down in 50:33 minutes. My time back up was 1:15 minutes. Training for the Tour de LeConte which include all trails leading to the top under 24hrs. A goal of mine to accomplish in May. Anyone enjoy the freedom of running any trails within the Park. If so get out it’s going to be gorgeous conditions to work up a sweat! See you at the top or on the trail. PNUT A hearty breakfast is key to the caretaker! 3 eggs, tatters and peppers and onions with fried spam! Mmmhhh! Also, my cool coffee mug. Thanks “Wildcat”!! Foot log below Arch Rock. Arch Rock foot log. Styx Branch foot log.

PNUT I don't see how anybody gets down from LeConte in less than a hour and back up in a hour. I wish I could do that. I would trip over all the roots and rocks on the trails. I hope you do good in the Tour de LeConte. Hope you come back next winter. Thanks PNUT for the Great pictures and all the info..
