Happy May Day from the land of perpetual winter! We got a light dusting of spring snow last evening and it is sticking around today. The high yesterday was only 41 and the low fell to a chilly 26. Currently it is only 27 and the sun is refusing to come and thaw us back out into spring. There isn't much snow on the ground, but it is a little slick so watch your step around camp and on the upper portions of the trails today. Another reminder that the Alum Cave trail closes on the 4th! Ya'll stay warm today...

Doug Y, if you still monitor the blog?. Read your post "Trails Less Followed" Apr. 30th of Apr. 9th Leconte Lodge journey. Was not boring to me at all. Brough back memories of 2 night stay, good food and hospitality some 8 yrs ago. Wish you the best in later journeys. HAGD

About two weeks ago- I lay for 36 hours with a dislocated left artificial hip under the care of Ruthie and the crew. Diane and I have not forgotten. After a quick trip to lama central on Tuesday- pay attention what comes up afterward. Just a small token of our thanks for all the sacrifice Ruthie and the crew did for me.

To be a little clearer- that is next Tuesday- so whenever the lamas wander your way after then. One special package. You will know it.
