Good Morning,
Roaring Fork Road is officially open now. This road is used to gain access to the trail head for Trillium Gap Trail. It is also the trail our llama team uses to bring supplies to the mountain. One of the most popular features of the trail is Grotto Falls, a waterfall that extends over the trail allowing hikers to trek behind the cascade. A friendly reminder that the National Park Service will be doing maintenance work on the trail this season and the projected start date is May 13. The trail will be closed after then during the week but will open on the weekends. It is a pretty windy morning here at the summit which has our temperature of 48 degrees feeling more like 40 degrees. We are expecting clear skies today but right now we are in the fog. Once the sun gets a little higher in the sky we expected the fog to burn off revealing those wonderful views. No rain on the forecast for today and temps are looking to reach the low 60s. Tomorrows forecast, as of now, is calling for rain tomorrow afternoon.

What trail will the Llamas use, if Trillium is closed during the week?
