Yesterday, as expected, turned out to be a wet one. With a high of 53 and low of 47, we also added 2.06 inches of rain to our yearly total. This morning we woke up to more rain that should be continuing throughout the next 24 hours. If you are hiking up today, you can expect cooler temps (45-50 degrees) and rain. Some of the crew went out in the rain last night on a quick jaunt to Myrtle Point and came back completely dry in their rain gear. With a quick warm up by the heater and coffee/ hot chocolate, they were all warmed up and ready to hit the hay. We hope to see you at the top enjoying the hot beverages we have to offer!
We have had quite a few bear sightings over the past three weeks, so it's time for everyone hiking up to see us to be "bear aware!". Please notify us or the NPS of any sightings so that the proper steps can be taken to educate and protect visitors, and keep the bear safe and wild. Thanks!
