Rolling into the middle of the week with a thick cover of clouds. There is a slight chance for a late afternoon rain shower, otherwise conditions up top should be a mix of sun and passing clouds. Temps are starting off mild in the mid 40s and we could achieve a high of 60° today. Winds will remain present with gusts up to 20mph possible.
The greenery is slowly creeping up the mountainside, and the beckoning of summer along with it. The thermometer continues to average higher figures, and one can sense the humidity is following close behind. Looking ahead at the forecast, it’s going to get good and toasty in a few more days. Remember to stay adequately hydrated during your hikes up and down Mt. LeConte with all the additional perspiration. If you aren’t used to the climbing or the mileage, be sure and take plenty of breaks along the way to rest up and reload on calories to help power through.
