Greetings All, I woke this morning with an overwhelming need for a tin cup full of hot coffee to warm my hands and wake my mind. As I sat, trying to be patient while the coffee finished perking, I was reminded that I am on the mountains' time. Things tend to move at a much slower pace here and it would be considered foolish to try a rush the mountain. This can also be said when talking about the weather as things on that front don't seem to be changing in any kind of hurry. With rain still falling on the summit, a total of 1.45 inches last night, and dense fog smothering the mountain, it looks to be another day of relaxing inside. Temperatures are currently at 54 degrees with yesterdays high at 59 degrees and only dropping last night to a warm 52 degrees. For those planning a hike up expect wet conditions on trails and take extra caution while crossing creeks on Trillium Gap Trail as water levels are to be higher than usual. -Adventure is out there.

The foggy. Path through the forest is so beautiful, and perfect looking from a HOT, Muggy, Steel-blue-sky sort of St. Louis day. I wish I were there on LeConte!!

Did not know I was "Leconte sick" until I saw the foggy trail, the blooms by the entrance walk and talk of a hot cup of coffee warming a cold hand. I have not been "up the mountain" in several years. Gotta go this summer.!
