So, the sun came out. And now it's misty and slightly chilly. The high yesterday was a whopping 52! That's hot! It dropped to 42 and us on the mountain are hoping the SUN will come out again. It would be best to pack rain gear today.
The llamas are coming up also! Remember that Alum Cave trail is closed Monday through Thursday and plan accordingly!

Any word on the recent bear activity at the Le Conte shelter and if they plan to reopen the next few weeks?

What is your best guess as to when the work on Alum Cave trail will be completed. I have a reservation in September and hope to be able to do Alum. I will plan on using another trail if necessary. Thanks

According to the National Park Service, Alum Cave trail is scheduled to be closed Monday through Thursday, with the exception of Federal Holidays, from now until November 17. They will be finishing work on the lower section and starting work on the upper section.

Thank you crew for your wonderful hospitality this weekend. I have been there with my adult kids a few times but this year my wife was able to come along to celebrate her 36th day as a Mother with us. The hikes and view from LeConte are fantastic but the lodge, and especially the crew, make this a bucket list experience!
