Drum rolls please....... meet the new winter caretaker, John Paul Krol, also known as JP. He made it up the mountain late last night. I told him I think he brought the snow with him. I am not going to tell you too much about him, that way he has some things to blog about. I am officially turning over the reins.

The snow began to fall lightly as I started my day at the hospital in Abingdon, Va. My thoughts were of my early Christmas gift. Veterans' Day 11-11-11 on Mt. LeConte, a lovely sunrise, a magical sunset, and a luminous moon. If I could have placed it in a bottle and shared with the patients. Thank you, Veterans, Mt. LeConte staff especially David. A special thanks to my SISTER Jackie and BROTHER-in-law Steve, I love you .

Hi, I have not had the pleasure of hiking up to the Lodge yet. I look forward in doing so; was going to try this week-end, but do not know whether the weather will be pleasant enough to do so. Hope to make it there soon; want to get me some great pictures.

What is your job as the Winter Caretaker there? Hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving!
