The crew had a special treat this morning. Our good friend Colleen Cruz, from Cruz Farm Dairy, hiked up home made ice cream, milk, cream, and butter for us. We talked her into making us home made biscuits with the buttermilk she brought us. It is always a treat to have someone else cook for while on the mountain. Oh yeah, before I forget, the biscuits we serve the guests are made from scratch every morning. Yummy!!! The rain has moved in and making itself at home. Looks like we are going to be wet for a few days. If you are hiking up today, I would recommend using Alum Cave trail. That trail is usually your safest bet for creek crossings when there is a lot of water coming off the mountain. So far, it is just rain. No winds or lightening. Be careful and have a safe hike.

We have reservations at the lodge for tomorrow night. We had thought about hiking the Trillium Gap trail. We have never hiked it before. Would it be a problem after heavy rains?

I don't think it will be to big an issue. The only place that might be tricky is around the falls. I would steer clear of Rainbow and Bullhead.

Thank you for the reply. If all goes well, we should be there tomorrow afternoon.

She packed it in a soft cooler with dry ice. Worked great :)
