I love taking closeup shots of the flowers. It is amazing at the detail in each one. Yesterday was a difficult day to be outside. The storms came in around 1:30 and lasted all afternoon. They finally stopped around 5 pm. That was the most lighting and thunder I think I have witnessed in a long time. Chris said we have had rain for the last 12 days straight. It is hard to believe we are supposedly in a drought. Just make sure if you decide to hike up for the day to bring a poncho or your rain gear.

Hello at the lodge ! Your photos are always a pleasure and a daily boost to my spirits, keeping alive my desire to return to the lodge. Thank you. I was in the Park Mon & Tue for a short tent camping trip at Elkmont, wishing every moment that I was up on the mountain ! But early Mon morning I went to the Grotto Falls trailhead where for the first time I had the pleasure of meeting your Llama Wrangler, a nice treat; I just happened to be wearing the t-shirt I bought at the lodge on my first visit there in 2004, which had the image of a llama on the front; Allen told me that was the likeness of "Sparky", who was still making the trips to the lodge these days. So, like a little child, I got to realize a desire of mine: to one day actually meet the llamas in person; Delightful, and I got a good photo of Sparky which I'll keep; Just one of those little pleasures I enjoy; Sure was nice to be in the Park; I must retire again and relocate nearer to there ! Thanks again for your daily postings. Remember, no matter where you go, there you are ! And at the lodge is where I always want to be ! D. Comments are closed.
