My nicest day of the winter... ?

Chrissy at Cliff Tops.
Hello everyone,

We had a high of 44 yesterday. It felt even warmer with the radiant sun. The overnight low was 22 and it was 29 degrees and clear this morning at weather observation. There is still an inch of snow on the ground. We heard a few folks talking about icy sections on the trails, so be sure to take your time on the way up.

Yesterday Chrissy & I had an afternoon of exploring. We measured the levels in the water tank, then hiked out to Myrtle Point. After that, we went to Cliff Tops. Then we went down to the Trillium Gap trail to check out the ice walls. I'm really enjoying getting to know my new backyard. There's something new to see every day.

I am looking forward to Poker Night!

Safe hiking!

I am finding myself already looking forward to your posts and pics. But I have to admit that I just can't imagine being up there all winter by yourself. I am hoping that some day hikers can get up there often for you to have some human contacts from time to time. My husband and I have so many questions though...mostly that being how do you have provisions to survive the winter up there. From what we understand, the Llama train will stop coming up there now for the winter? We would just love some answers on how you will survive. Many blessings to you JP as you embark on this adventure.

Welcome JP!! It is so nice to meet the guy who's going to be keeping us in touch with the lodge this winter:) I like to daydream about being the winter caretaker even though I would probably get lonely up there all by myself. It would certainly be an adventure that's for sure.I look forward to reading your daily posts and seeing your winter photos..take care of yourself up there.

Ditto on the Carol G questions. In addition, how did you land such a position for the winter? I would think that it would be very difficult to acquire.
