Good morning from our favorite mountain top. The sun is rising and the sky is clear. I believe we are going to get a repeat of yesterday. It was an amazing day for a hike back to work. I found the carpet of bluets along Alum Cave trail. The flowers are beautiful. It was interesting coming back from a week off, the mountain is greener then when we left. I see buds on the bushes and there are flowers starting to pop up around the kitchen. The temperatures on the mountain are starting to feel like summer. The high yesterday was 66º with a low of 46º.

What great pics the last two days. I'm in Florida visiting my daughter and don't get to read this every day. I was interested Rachel in your profile as I too worked for AmeriCorps for 2 yrs in Indiana after I retired from a 30 year job. It was a great experience and I dealt with kids from 8th thru hs. I got interested because my daughter worked for AmeriCorps after she graduated from college. In fact, we were at the time the first mother/daughter team AmeriCorps had. She then went on to work a year in DC and finally ended up working a year atop the mountain before she got married, had kids and travels the world with her army. Just wanted you to know what you did with AmeriCorps and other non-profits is a very worthwhile endeavor. I salute you, a fellow AmeriCorps worker and what great experiences!

Will be making my first trip up this sunday and I cant wait. Had it scheduled for last october 10th and the government shut down down go figure.love all you guys posts
