Another morning on Mountain Island.
What a beautiful morning we are having on Mt. LeConte! After more than a few days without seeing the sun, we awoke to an inversion this morning and a clear sky above. Yesterday's high was 51 and the low overnight was 46 and we received .7"of rain. Right now a few thin clouds have moved in, but the sun is burning them off as we speak and it is still a crazy warm 47 degrees!

Wonderful photo; might be where I have my ashes placed !

I have to add my congratulations to Tammy (TX) for making the hike up to the Lodge last week. Her courage, determination, and tenacity are of the highest level ! A truly inspiring achievement.

You don't have to see the entire trail ahead of you, just believe that you will make it ! And remember: No matter where you go, there you are !

I was negligent in my earlier comments for failing to mention the assistance given to Tammy and her husband by the two nurses who went beyond their calling to help them along the trail during their hike up the mountain. Their actions were no less than exemplary and they should be given the Golden Staff award !

It does look like an island in the ocean with the other peaks rising above a "sea"of clouds. Just beautiful! Thanks everyone for your words of support. I hope Paula and Glen see this blog and the kind words you all have said about them!

Norman....is the numeric portion of your mailing address 2666...I have something I want to send you. Thanks! Have a good night everyone!
