The clouds lifted for a few minutes and we could see below us. Well, sort of. It was a breathtaking view of English Mountain. The clouds blew in and out all day. The high was 55 with a low of 45. We didn't get much more rain. The ground soaked up what ever did come down. Who knows what today will bring. We have been socked in for a while and while I am typing, I notice a patch of blue sky. Maybe we will a see a little sunshine today.

Hello all at the lodge: Very nice photo Allyson; made it my desktop background for today; finally getting some cool(er) temps here in C. KY; hoping to get up there in Nov on a cancellation date and hope to get two nights; By the way, I'm a rather good chef myself and maybe I could do something for the crew when I return; Have a nice one.

I was so hoping to get to witness one of those "sea of clouds" days while I was there in July, but I knew it was the wrong time of the year for it to happen.

what a beautiful photo! Yes, we didn't stick around long enough to see anything but fog. But even the fog had it's own experience... I liked feeling far from civilization... And on a clear day you can still see it below. :)
