 A break in the clouds out a Cliff Tops yesterday. We had almost forgotten what the sky looked like! Yesterday was mostly cloudy and very windy, but dry all day. The high was 57 and the low overnight was 47. Today the clouds have finally moved off and we have beautiful blue skies! It is also warmer than it has been lately, already 62 degrees. This is prime October hiking weather if you ask me....see y'all on top!

Been there lots of times. Enjoy the sunshine this week. The colors are starting to change fast on the ridge tops. Get out and enjoy the great outdoors! Beautiful picture as always.

Ruthie: You're not helping here. A few days ago I requested an ugly picture because I was getting homesick for the beauty of LeConte. So, what do I see today? Just a gorgeous view from Cliff Tops! You are cruel!! :-) In today's photo and on a clearer day, I have looked through that deepest gap in the ridge below, of course without those clouds behind the gap, and spotted a few tops of buildings down in Gatlinburg, and, in particular, the top of the Space Needle in downtown. These can just barely be seen. Just a wee bit of trivia here.

Still Monday thru Thursday as far as I know, but they might cease their repair work for the winter I've heard............
