 October mountains. Good morning from another beautiful fall morning! It is clear and cold again today, right now only 41 degrees. Yesterday's high was 53 and the low overnight was a cool 33. We received no rain yesterday and it doesn't look like we are in for any today either. Happy hiking!

Just want to thank everyone at LeConte Lodge who helped me and my injured friend last Wednesday October 7th. She injured her knee coming up the Boulevard trail the day before. Thanks to Matthew and Gary for their concern and coming up with a plan to get her car from Newfound Gap to Trillium trail head. Gary and another gentleman hiked down that day to move her car from one parking lot to the other, so we could take the shorter trail down. It took us 10 and a half hours to get down.. and did so just as it was getting dark. We left the lodge before breakfast so we'd have all the daylight we possibly could. Many many thanks to all of you... and to you again Gary, especially.
