Do you have the patience to wait till your mud settles and the water is clear? Can you remain unmoving till the right action arises by itself? Lao Tzu
_Morning,

It was another beautiful day on the trail yesterday. The high reached 46 degrees and the overnight low was a pleasant 36 degrees. It was 41 degrees and hazy at observation. The trails are in great shape. It looks like it'll be another gorgeous day for a hike.

These colours possess me. It's as if the stardust within me and the cosmos without are seamless, and stripped bare, looking one another face to face. These invisible barriers dissolve and all is one. The sacred puts her hand upon my shoulder and I exist outside myself, peek over my shoulder and laugh at the absurdity of all my worldly concerns. They simply dissolve in this sublimity.  Jim Harrison wrote that 'what cannot be said will be wept'. It's all too much sometimes.

This weather is crazy! Yesterday here in Missouri it was 75 degrees and today it will be 80 degrees - breaking the all time record. We did go hiking yesterday but not at our favorite place. We still had a wonderful time - just hate these ticks!
Happy Hiking Everyone!

Susan, what is your favorite hiking trail in Missouri? We live in St. Louis and hiked Mt. LeConte for the first time on Thanksgiving.

Our new favorite place is the Columbia River Bottoms at the confluence of the Missouri and Mississippi.

I will be hiking up Rainbow tomorrow with a friend. I love Alum but want to do a trail I havent done before. Alum and Boulevard are the only two I have under my belt so far. Can I bring you anything (that is if I get a reply in time). We hope to run into you tomorrow! If not I can leave you something in a designated spot.

Gina,
Some good cheese and triscuits would be much appreciated! Thanks! If I'm not around, feel free to hang it from the kitchen doorknob!

OK, I wont be able to go into to town tonight to the grocery store but I went to the Dollar General down the street and got you some triscuits. Unfortunately the DG dont have good cheese, LOL. But I love cheese to so I happen to have some good cheeses in my fridge. Its already cut up and everything so Ill bring you some of that. One more thing, do you know if Trillium is passable? I know you said bullhead is not in great shape now but we would love to do one rainbow up and a different one down. Thanks
