"The quieter you become, the more you can hear." - Baba Ram Dass
I was able to escape camp for an hour yesterday. I found a nice quiet spot and enjoyed every minute of listening to nature. I watched the peregrine falcon soar in the sky above me, I heard the scurry of the squirrels looking for food, and I heard the beautiful song of the winter wren. I loved finding the patch of rhododendron that took root in the tiniest crack of this rock. It was a great day to appreciate the mountain. The high yesterday was 69 with a low of 41. If you have plans on staying with us overnight, notice the difference in temperatures. It has been pretty chilly up top. Bring a jacket to layer with. It will make your stay much more comfortable.

It must be nice to get to see and hear the beauty of nature any time you want

That's just plain enjoyment....thru & thru. Thanks for the 'mini' vacation, even if I had to picture it in my mind. That was a nice little break. Enjoy your day! ~{^_^}~

Some of my most cherished memories are being all alone with just my wife at Myrtle Point with only the breeze and the birds making noise. I couldn't agree more with the quote that you truly hear the most when you hear the least.

Frost warnings tonight for central Indiana. Those temps in the 40's sound pretty nice. ;-)

It always amazes me that plants can find a way to make a home in the middle of a rock. Such determination and so beautiful. Comments are closed.
