We’re marking off many milestones on the mountain today. It’s a new month, and the upcoming Labor Day weekend signals the unofficial end of summer on the mountain. These next few weeks typically see the humidity begin to ease off some, eventually leading into the famous fall spectacular and cooler temps across the region. What is official, is that we’re now 2/3 of the way through the lodge season. Time sure is flying by with only 12 weeks remaining. As far as daylight hours go, the sun is only granting us 13 hours of light now, and sunset is about to step inside of 8:00 PM. So bit by bit, day travelers will need to keep tabs on how much light they have to ramble through the woods before descending the mountain in a safe and timely manner. We’re basking in glorious sunshine again today, with temps nearing 70°. Lows will continue to be in the 50s and winds over the peaks will be light. There is a slight chance of pop up rain showers for Friday afternoon, otherwise visitors can expect another decent day to explore the outdoors. The deeper one gets into the holiday weekend, the wetter the forecast becomes. But for now, we’ll enjoy this superb streak of sunshine.
Have a great rest of the day.
