It’s a mostly cloudy but otherwise calm Thursday on the mountain. Conditions are expected to turn sour by mid afternoon as a band of strong rain showers moves across the state. Should clear out about sunset time, and then another chance for precip returns for Friday. Temps up top will continue to be in the 50s and 60s leading up to the weekend.
The NPS Trails Forever crew continues to make marvelous improvements to Trillium Gap Trail. They still have a couple months left of work to complete, but their progress thus far is apparent and appreciated. With Monday being a federal holiday, hikers will have the opportunity to utilize that trail in its entirety to access the lodge. The trail crew closure above Grotto Falls will resume on Tuesday.
Have a great day.
