Labor Day weekend is upon us. Kicking off the day in the clouds with some light rain showers in the vicinity. The chances for precip aren’t high today, but they could linger throughout the day before a stronger chance this evening. Starting tomorrow though the next set of days looks stellar. Folks hoping for one last hurrah in the outdoors this summer should have no problem finding the opportunity this holiday weekend. We’re currently in the upper 50s and depending on what these clouds so ought to climb into the 60s once again.
With the holiday coming up, the Smokies is certainly a popular destination. Expect a surge in crowds and vehicular traffic. Get an early start to beat the parking lot and trail congestion if you can. With such nice weather expected, this could be a great time to explore one of the mountains other trails. Social distancing will coming easily on paths like Bull Head, The Boulevard after the AT, or Trillium Gap above the falls.
