There has been a decent stretch of sun so far sun and as expected that has brought out the hikers. Should be another bustling day in the Smokies with families enjoying their last escapades before the remaining schools resume session around the country. Temps are in the mid 50s this morning and should get up into the 60s easily today. Winds will be light and the skies a mix of sun and clouds, but the chance for showers and thunderstorms increases as the day progresses. By tonight and into Labor Day morning we could see some wet conditions across the region. We’re well under 13 hours of daylight these days with sunrise happening after 7:00 now and sunset at sliding in before 8:00. Between the milder temps and waning daylight, it sure feels like autumn is approaching fast. A suspicion only confirmed with just 80 days left in the lodge season.
Have a great day.
