Short update until the Lodge can post

10/21/2016

4:54 pm update, Henry said they have had their first snow. It is alternating between snow, rain and freezing rain. Very windy and 31 degrees.  Hope to have pictures tomorrow.

Talked to the Lodge early this afternoon. They had experienced a short sleet storm, and temperature was in the low 30's, very windy, wet and the rocks are slick with moisture. No ice was mentioned but if the temps drop more as expected tonight, Saturday hikers could experience some slick spots on the sheltered areas of the trails. Snow showers are possible overnight, but the cold and wind will be the biggest problem at least until Sunday.  Pack layers, hats, and gloves.  Don't forget to stay hydrated.

Safe travels. Leaves are wonderful; along with apple cider, pumpkin pie and trail hikes. Been here all week. Interesting weather. Been shorts kind of weather past several days...now cold and getting colder. Lots of elk out. Enjoy!!

Thanks GC Doug! I'm so ready to be in those mountains. It's been up in the low 90s at home and I can't wait for the cooler temps....and the fall color. Love the elk in Catalooche. Hot cocoa and no bake cookies, here I come!
