Sittin' on top of the world

3/5/2011

High 38, Low 28. 1.5" Rain.

Raining, It's been slowly coming down since yesterday around 3pm, It's supposed to pick up and become a thunderstorm today/tonight. Hypothermia weather; 33, raining, and windy.

Well, I don't hardly know anything about camera gear.
Im not used to carrying around a camera with me most of the time neither, using a camera daily this winter has been new and challenging, especially on rainy days like today and the next couple days, when all the pictures turn out... gray.

Raining here in the Valley too.
Maybe your secondary calling is photography!!!! Great screen door photo!
Loved the Trillium Gap photos. Makes me want to leave now and get up on that mountain. But have to go fishing first and fishing in the rain is usually good.

Now my philosophy has always been, if it's raining it's a good day to a. sleep in b. stay inside and snuggle c. stay inside and read or in my case make cards or d. all of the above!

Your doing pretty good if you can make a screen door look interesting.

I have a trip planned to hike LeConte on Wednesday and to stay overnight at the shelter. It looks like lots of rain in the forecast and then bitter cold afterwards. Is Alum Cave Trail a good one to hike in the rain? Are there better/safer trails to use in wet weather? I dont want to hike up or down a river. I am relatively new to hiking. Should I cancel my trip and try it another time? any advice would be appreciated.

Alex, I bet you wouldn't have guessed at the start of the season, that you'd become gifted with a photographer's eye. Congrats on your new found ability!
