Snow's a-fallin'. 2" so far. High 38, Low 18. Roads are closed, Snow expected until monday, winds supposed to pick up with a negative windchill. Pictures from Christmas Eve sunset.

We tried to hike up this past Wednesday and someone in the party strained a knee 2 miles into the hike...we had to turn back. We will try it again next week while we are still in town. Woke up this morning to a beautiful White Christmas here in our mountain retreat ! I'll take you up some Remy Martin Cognac to keep you warm !

Alex - Your pictures are always wonderful - thanks for sharing them with us. Have been hiking up to Leconte for many years, but never in the winter It looks so different from the summer Leconte that I know. Stay warm and have a merry christmas!

Hey Alex! My husband, son, and I hiked up yesterday via Alum Cave. Enjoyed a late lunch on the steps of one of the buildings up there. Wow, there was some major ice along the way...it was AMAZING! A HUGE chunk of ice had frozen to the rock and cable,fallen off, and had taken out a long line of cable right before Alum Cave.

I really like the pictures. Not into country music that much but can send lots of good folk music! I also make home brew and really enjoy the different brews. Going through a Holiday Brew now.
