When the spring beauties start popping up in camp, we can usually say that spring has arrived. The temperatures have been in the 60's lately. I am hopeful in saying we have entered spring on top of the mountain. The high yesterday was 62 with a low of 47. The clouds are hanging out below us today. It is starting out to be a beautiful sunny day.

You should be seeing plenty of wildflowers on top very soon. Down low here at 2300ft my trillium, blood root, may apple and native azaleas are all already in full bloom.
Ok, so we did it! On 4/3/11, just a short coupla weeks ago, me summitted Mt. LeConte by way of the Alum Cave Trail. The weather was NOT in the 60's and there was mucho ice in parts but we sucked it up and did it anyway. And, we did it with The Tyke, weighing in at nearly 30 pounds, strapped securely to my partners back. (He's awesome!)
