_Morning,
It was a bit of a return to normalcy with some chilly temperatures yesterday. It only crept up to 29. The low last night was 15. It was 16 and clear at observation. It looks like another pleasant day for hiking. The weather.com forecast is calling for 'plentiful sunshine'. I love it when they get creative with their descriptions. Still, beware of black ice on some of the rocks. It may just look like moisture, but it's very slick! I had a really nice run down Alum yesterday morning. I can't believe I'm still able to run down that trail with shorts on! The weather has been nice, just very unexpected. Thanks to everyone who heard my cry for evaporated milk, New York Times, fresh food, etc. and brought me up some treats! It is much appreciated. I spent the remainder of the day finishing up laundry and reading a bit. Safe hiking!

Snow is a coming, less than one week from now the mountain will receive a decent snow. I would be willing to bet that you will see a white Christmas. The GFS ensembles have been solid with some Christmas snow for a while now.

Hey JP: I'm getting a bit too old for running down that trail, but I'm still a tough 'ol fellow; They say you lose 50 to 75 % of your body heat from off your head and around 15 % off your arms; Hiking or running in shorts even in winter is my favorite way as long as I keep those other parts covered; I don't have enough hair on my head for that, so a good fleece balaclava does just fine; Haven't heard you mention anything about that bobcat you hoped to spot; perhaps it's moved on; Comments are closed.
