What a fabulous night sky. Not only are our days something to write home about, the night skies are becoming that clear, crisp, diamond studded sky you see in the fall. I do believe fall is going to grace us with its presence sooner rather then later. The high yesterday was 63 with a low of 45.

Another great photo ! This one certainly captured the moment. When I'm at the lodge, and I'm long overdue for a visit, and the night sky is cool and clear, it's difficult to sleep because I want to enjoy every single minute that I can gazing skyward and taking in the marvels there. Even though I live well out in the countryside, there's still some light pollution from the lights of the town nine miles away. I rigged an on/off switch to the single street light near my house, but that doesn't eliminate all the ambient light in the distance. It's great to linger up at Cliff Tops well after sunset and do some lengthy star gazing. Have a good weekend.

If you don't mind me asking, how did you rig an on/off switch to the street lamp? We have a similar problem and if it's not too difficult.....

Nice day for a hike. We hiked to Springer Mountain via Benton Mackaye trail. Made for a good day. Comments are closed.
