The moon has been so pretty and full recently. In the middle of the night, you can wake up and not even have to use a light to see around camp. It's one of the most beautiful times on the mountain for me. It's been quite a while since we've been able to see a full moon. It seems that usually during that time the clouds have been too thick for it to peek through. We are looking forward to much warmer temperatures today. It is already 36 degrees right now with beautiful sunny skies. The 24-hr low occurred yesterday morning (11 degrees) and it only continued to get warmer from there. It actually was the warmest after I went to bed. At 10 p.m. last night it was 30 degrees. It looks like we will have lots of visitors today since the weather is so nice and folks are trying to get up before the end of the season. Hope to see you all. 11 more days to make it up!

Great picture. I was coming home yesterday from Indianapolis with my son and the moon was just rising and so big and so full and I said to him, sure hope LeConte posts a picture of that tomorrow and you did! Envy you being able to enjoy the view of it from atop the mountain. Thanks for sharing.

My son and I stayed at the lodge this past Thursday day night and had a great time. The LeConte staff is great. My son loved the supper, breakfast, & the hot chocolate . Really like the clothes dryers. Thank you all!

Finally thawed out from my stay Thursday night 11/10/11 with friends. As always everything was awesome. My first time navigating ice on the trail was a new hiking experience! Enjoyed chatting with staff, fellow guests and fellow hikers on the trail.
