"Wilderness is not just a place..... It is also a state of being." - Gerald May
I thought I would let the photographs do the talking. The guests were treated to a glorious display of color this morning. The sun was rising above us while the clouds were nestled into the valley below. The high yesterday was 51º with a low of 35º. All in all, it was a wet day up top. Today is looking like it is going to be one of those

Ahh, no fair, way too many nice pictures you put on today. How to choose one for my screen saver of the day.

Any word on who the winter caretaker will be this year? That is right around the corner. Hopefully JP is able to do it again. He has a way with words and making the mountain come alive. Happy hiking everyone

Can't wait for you to be back JP. I know your are pumped up and ready for another adventure. I guess the crew on top are ready for this season to end. This year has not been the best with all the rain and shut down. See you in Nov.-Dec.

Very happy to learn that you are returning JP. Your way with words and images of God's Creation up top of the mountain during the winter is something that I always look forward to!

Enjoy the tables being turned for once! It is gray and dreary down here under those clouds.

I suddenly got the urge to take a quick trip down in January and experience the mountain in the dead of winter. Not sure it will happen, but it's something to dream about at this point. Might need to invest in snow shoes and a good headlamp. :)

I have been up for 2 overnights in the snow, once in the single digits with 20-30 mph winds so wind chill was VERY cold. As I walked into office to warm up, John walked in and said someone had cancelled their reservation. I looked at my son and grinned and said tonight we sleep in lodge and not shelter!! So I paid em and enjoyed. I may have to invest in a new bag : ) wife won't be happy with that. LOL
