The sink hasn't been giving me problems anymore, I've figured out the trick to keeping it from freezing.
Yes, Cherokee Orchard Rd. is closed... This means you have to park and start hiking from Mynatt Park in Gatlinburg. Hiking Cherokee Orchard Rd. isn't the most enjoyable hike, and for most people is not a possible day trip.
snowshoes & ski's are being used often up here now.

Can you tell us how deep the snow is up there? Looks like a couple of feet but would love to know the actual depth with the accumulation!

As always, your posts are greatly appreciated, and I'm counting the days until my first visit to the Great Smoky Mountains and Leconte Lodge.

No telling what he will get today.I am between Gatlinburg and Cosby on Rocky Flats and we have gotten about 5" since last night and it is still coming down.

A question for Alex: You seem to favor Rainbow Falls trail when 441 is closed over Bullhead. Aside from the falls, any particular reason?

Great pictures! Nice to see new lodge. I stay in it every August. And the video from Cliff Tops is awesome... Clingman's Dome looks so far away! By the way, Matt Hinkin aired one of these pictures today on Channel 6.
