Good Morning,
You’d think it was springtime on the mountain. Only thing missing would be the budding trees and flowers. At this point, it’s probably safe to say we are done seeing any new snow for the rest of 2021. At least that means safer driving conditions for the masses of people flocking to the Smokies this week. And although the white fluffy stuff and ice add a certain level of magic to the scenery around these parts, having milder temps sure makes life for a caretaker a little easier. Especially when toting all that water for cooking and dishwashing up from the natural mountain spring. Yesterday’s high temp came in at 51° and our low was only 42°. We’re back in the lower 40s this morning under cloudy conditions. We managed to avoid getting any precip on Monday, so we’ll see what today’s skies have in store. It’s anyone’s guess as to whether we’ll catch any sunny breaks in the clouds. Rain chances increase later this afternoon, and then again overnight. The next couple days appear to be soakers. The winds will also ramp up this evening gusting up around 55mph, so better do one’s ramblings in the park on the early side today. Have a great day!
