"Adopt the pace of nature: her secret is patience." ~Ralph Waldo Emerson
This is a lesson we have to learn on the mountain. Our friends are telling us how spring is every where in the lowlands. One day we have a beautiful spring like day and the next it is a snowy, slushy, mess. Then we have another day like yesterday. The high was 50 degrees. The snow melted quickly. The reports we have received are that the trails seem to have cleared. It is looking like another day of sun and warmer weather for us.

Most dates have a wait list started for advance notice cancellations, so if Galen releases the cabin tomorrow, the wait list will get first option on the cancellation.

Have day hiked to Leconte via Alum twice. Planning our next day hike up. Was wanting to "experience" other trails. Was thinking of Trillium, Rainbow, and Bullhead. Any suggestion of which one up and which one down. Would really like to see Grotto and Rainbow falls on the way. Thanks. 4/16/2011 12:17:10 pm
hey, y'all. We arrived on Thursday, around 4:30.... Enough time to get up there and relax with some coacoa and lemonade before a well rewarded dinner. After hiking up rainbow falls trail, it was a wonderful feeling to make it on top of old smoky. :) we had a great evening, a beautiful sunset and good company. The next morning, Friday, was SO windy and foggy, but kin a cool and surreal. It was a windy trek down bullhead. Thank you leconte staff for another memorable stay! Cheers.
