The high yesterday was 31. The frost never melted. Our low last night was 21. Hopefully the temperatures will warm up a little more today. There are trillium around the lodge that are ready to bloom. I hope the frost did not kill them. I look forward to the arrival of the wildflowers every year.

Oh wonderful! My trillium here in Asheville have all bloomed and almost run their course for this year, as have my flame azaleas, bloodroot and May apple. My jack-inthe-pulpit have just come up and my native rhododendron are in full bloom now. Do you have rhododendron on Mount LeConte?

I have to answer Juanita on the rhododendren. There is tons of it on LeConte and my favorite place is the Trillium gap trail where it just drips with the pink/purple ones in June (I think). Wish I was close enough to visit & see everything blooming right now...

I hiked in the Cades Cove area in April. Wildflowers were beautiful. I am hoping to be back in June. Really want to see the azalea's blooming. Alison, you really take beautiful pictures. Thanks for sharing our beautiful mountain with us folks who have no mountains around us. Hope to see you this summer. Have hiked up in the Spring, Summer and Fall now. Now have to get a reservations for the Winter season. Comments are closed.
