Yep, you guessed it. It is STILL raining on the mountain. We heard stories of rainbows and sunshine in the valley below, we never saw it. We received another 1.08" of rain yesterday. It is currently coming down. Last nights guests seem content with sitting around the lamp light while sipping their hot chocolate and eating pancakes. No one wants to get out in this mess. Camp was pretty quiet yesterday. Not a lot of people decided to get out for a day hike. It was a bit eerie for a July 4th weekend. We were expecting to be super busy. The only noise we heard were the spring peepers. Our little frog friends seem to be out a month later then usual. The rhodo is still hanging on up top. It makes me wonder if the wildflowers in camp are going to be a month late?

Looking forward to our hike up one month from today with my daughter. We have had lots of rain in NE FL too. Spent last week in SW FL rained every day campground flooding.

I sure do feel for you and the crew. We all want the sunshine. But the guest go home after a day. Little under the clouds in Michigan this morn. But yesterday was a beautiful 83 and sunny here. Hate to rub that in. Had to come home and dry out. Sunshine has to be coming your way soon. Your all going to float away up there in that beautiful jungle land. lol

I agree with Gina. My wife and I plan on our first day hike in October. Hopefully mother nature will cooperate. I'm really excited about this.

Been collecting bags of vitamin D all year. Plan on bringing as much as I can carry on the 25th. Find your sunglasses and sunscreen because sunshine is getting ready and it will be a sunny day on the 25th. You can bet your rain gear on it.

Spent the afternoon visiting the local waterfalls in WNC and taking pictures. Have never seen our rivers and creeks with this large a flow! Rosebay rhodies are just starting to open up so things are still progressing about a month off of schedule. Weird spring weather pattern continues into summer. This rain must come to an end. Grandsons want to do another Leconte day hike before school starts back !

I don't care if it's pouring--we're all still excited about our trip up! We won't melt--we're not that sweet. Shelter tonight, lodge tomorrow, can't wait! Vesna from A Walk in the Woods says post something about Rainbow Falls, that all they've heard is rumors. Everybody have a great day! Comments are closed.
