It was another beautiful start to the day here. I was happily surprised to wake to much warmer weather and clear skies despite the heavy, high winds. The low was only 45 degrees last night. Yesterday, we saw beautiful sunny skies with a high near 60. We were lucky to complete our mini-airlift in the morning before the winds picked up. There is another wind advisory today with rain and thunderstorms expected later in the day. I have heard that the temperatures will be dropping with the front moving in. So, anyone hiking up today or tomorrow plan for all kinds of weather (rain, snow or sun). We had a"mini" airlift to bring in some construction supplies. Another beautiful sunset. Can't wait for later sunset times so I can head up high to Cliff Tops for better views!

Hey Meredith. Great photos. You are doing just fine with the blog. Stay tied down up there. Here in the Valley the winds are already howling. I remember on trip when a front came roaring through and the rockers on the porches were banging against the cabins overnight! See y'all in about 3 weeks.

I enjoy reading posts from people who have hiked up in the preceeding few days. I live close enough to get up and drive 441 and in an hour start the hike up to Leconte. the updated info can make or break my plans. Its only the nasty few posts that I dislike and lately Alyson has been removing the inapproiate posts. Thank goodness for that
