Working on the Loom

7/28/2010

Picture
My mother-in-law hiked up the mountain to celebrate her 70th birthday. We were very excited to have her spend a couple of days with us. She had decided to make the loom her project while visiting us. She reworked the loom and taught Katie and Meredith how to weave. It is great to see these arts passed down from one generation to the next.

For those of you asking about Woody, our llama. He has made it to the lodge and is hanging out eating lots of grass.

We are still enjoying some cooler weather up here. It reached 70 yesterday with a low of 58.

Great to hear Woody is on the mend. I was honored to help Monday night. Keep us posted on Woody. Is Radar back to 100%

Uh Oh! From the comments I gather something must have happened with the llamas. Could you fill us in?

Love that the loom is being introduced to a new generation. Technology is wonderful but we can't forget that there was once a different way of doing things.

For those of you asking, the llamas are fine. This heat takes a toll on everyone, including the llamas. We have Radar and Woody at the lodge and we are spoiling them rotten. They are enjoying this cool mountain air and thinking they are at a spa. We had better watch out or the other llamas may catch on.
