Xmas Eve

12/24/2010

Oli yah (Bamougoum),

High 24, Low 11. It was such a nice day yesterday, but right now the ground is just solid ice, hard to walk on. Reading "Soul of Nowhere" by Craig Childs, thanks to a friend; Good read. Looks like snow coming in around Midnight tonight and to stick around for 3-4 days. Looking for classic country/bluegrass tunes to learn, any recommendations? Merry Christmas Eve, Should be a quiet peaceful Christmas here.

Merry Christmas Alex!

Really enjoy the photos.
My brother makes his own wine and beer. The beer, he says, is more difficult to make then the wine. His recipes make a real "hearty" beer. The only beer he makes that I can drink is an ale from a recipe of George Washingtons time. Pretty good-----so good luck with your potent potable!

Merry Christmas Alex!!
My sons and I will be staying up at the shelter on Wednesday night. Need anything? Malted beverages tend to heavy, lighter clearer liquids can be carried if you wish.

Merry Christmas Alex,

We are breaking tradition tonight and opening presents so we can get an early start to TN tomorrow. Stay warm and be careful coming down the mountain on Sunday. See you soon.

Morning Alex;

You might enjoy listening to WDVX from Knoxville (wdvx.com) over the net. They have a 6-9 all bluegrass format with Freddie Smith, then on Tuesday and Sat nights, a similar format 7-10. Sunday morning 8-12 is all bluegrass gospel.

There are lots of Bluegrass songs you could learn while up there, the easiest would be "Cripple Creek".

Have a nice Christmas on top of Mt. Leconte (Jealous). Rick M, Orlando, Florida

Keep those pictures coming and thanks!
