10/12/2016

Hello! Hope everyone is enjoying the outdoors today! The llamas came up today and we're in tip top shape, thanks to our llama wranglers Alan and Chrissy! If you haven't met them yet, I hope you can someday because they're the bees knees.

The llama schedule for this month will be Monday Wednesday and Friday's.

Alum Cave Trail will remain closed on the weekdays until November 17th.

Every now and then, I do forget I have cookies in the oven. Whoops! But Justin will probably eat them. I've seen that dude eat some pretty questionable things before.

Fall is here!

10/11/2016

Hello fellow explorers! The weather is showing definite signs of fall and it's beautiful! Leaves are changing and cooler weather is on the way.

Last nights low was 37 and today's high was 63.

In celebration of the changing season, P-Nut, Tate and I ran down Alum Cave today to get pumpkins to hike back up to the lodge!

A bear and a bobcat?!

10/10/2016

Greetings valley dwellers! It's been a beautiful, clear sunny day today. Our Columbus Day weekend was BUSY. We're glad that crazy wind and rain from Saturday didn't stay! Chilly weather is bringing all the wildlife back to the mountain, including a bear sighting today AND a bobcat sighting yesterday. The current temperature is 54 and the low from last night was 30! Happy hiking! Love, Turnip

the mountain ash is still hanging on!

10.8.16. And then we got rained on

10/8/2016

A beautiful 64/50 morning turned grey and rainy, leaving us with .70" and still going.

Pack for rain, pack layers, and be safe coming up, it's pretty slick!

We have llama tomorrow!

We're keeping an eye on the weather forecast and recommend all hikers do so until the hurricane dies out.

Our best to all of those affected by it!

10.6.16. So, what might happen?

10/6/2016

The sun came out after 5 days of cloudy nothingness!!!

We had a fabulous 64/40 day filled with juncos and bees.
Picture
It might be hurricane season along the coast but that does not mean we are totally exempt from some crazy weather!

We could get nothing, lots of rain, lots of snow, who knows what could happen!

Keep an eye on the weather if you are coming up in the
next week or so, we'll try to keep you guys as current as possible with the weather conditions.

Happy hiking!

10.3.16. Shadow over the mountain

10/3/2016

What odd cloud behavior we're having lately!

After chilly 55/37 weather we are treated to cloudy sunsets and beautiful sunrises.

Pack layers, it's really getting chilly.

Keepan eye on the weather the next few weeks, with hurricanes along the coast who knows what sort of phenomena will happen.

Llamas Wednesday and Friday!

Question: Which games from the office do you enjoy playing the most here up at the lodge? Any recommendations for some we don't have?

10.1.16. Our last full month!

10/1/2016

How time does fly!

Its our last full month of our open season guys!

October, then November, then JP gets to move back in and keep us all updated on the winter scene.

It sure is getting colder and colder, 51/35 for the temps, no rain, and you can smell winter around the corner.

No inversion today
Pack layers! It might be a warm hike up but you will be very surprised in the temperature difference.

Llamas tomorrow and Monday, leave room for the boys on the trail! They appreciate it.
